Research shows we spend up to one third of our life sleeping, it’s a basic human need. There is no badge of honour given for lack of sleep, although I remember when I worked in Investment Banking and Wealth Management in the mid 00’s, I used to brag about how I could survive on four hours sleep a night. No wonder I was always walking the path to burnout. Nowadays I need somewhere between 7-8 hours. I try to keep this consistent even on my weekends.
