It’s Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK, and as ever, it’s been full-on in the best way.
I’ve been delivering training, giving keynotes, visiting clients (including LEGO - scroll down for that joy), and participating in a few fun events. The irony isn’t lost on me; these weeks are always the busiest, so my self-care must be non-negotiable.
Here’s what I’ve learned (again):
💚 If I cut sleep, I will pay for it later. But yoga nidra? 10–20 minutes of non-sleep deep rest? Total nervous system reset.
💚 Movement and water are everything. Even if I can’t run or hit a class, a ten-minute walk at the start and end of the day helps me land back in my body.
So, in case you need the reminder too:
You can’t do everything.
Prioritise what matters.
And give yourself a ton of sh*t-hot compassion.
This year’s theme is community, and it’s made me think about how community shapes everything:
🌻 In workplaces: inclusive cultures and psychological safety
🌻 In small business life, where we find our people
🌻 In friendships: the ones we outgrow, and the new ones that feel just right
